Oily Skin and Mineral Makeup

Many teenagers and sometimes adults suffer from oily skin. This kind of skin results from hyper active sebaceous glands. Many a times, hormonal imbalances may also be a cause for oily skin. Needless to say, this kind of skin does not go well with hot weather and humidity. Imagine having a film of oil constantly on your face! That’s what people with an oily skin feel like! Since there is an excess secretion of oil, the pores on the skin are enlarged and there is an abnormal shine as well. Moreover, it also appears coarser and rougher than normal.

Non Aging Oil

People with oily skin are generally wary of any kind of make up since almost all make up tends to appear blotchy on the skin or it looks like you just have too much on. This problem is not just restricted to people with oily skin but also affects people with combination or what is known as normal skin. Generally people with normal skin tend to have dry skin on their cheeks whilst the other parts of the t-zone tend to have oily skin. T-zone is the area which includes the forehead, nose and the chin. The skin on the t zone appears shiny and has enlarged pores. You would find that most women develop acne, blemishes and blackheads on the t-zone. More dust and dirt is attracted in this area since the skin is oily and sticky here. However, oily skin also has some advantages like no or reduced wrinkle formation, looks younger than the other skin types and does not need much moisturizing.

Anti Aging Mineral Ingredients for Oily Skin

In spite of the advantages, the major problem in case of oily skin is that it’s difficult to put on make up. However, the advent of mineral make up has given a new hope for people with oily skin. Mineral make up not only looks good on an oily skin but also tends to offer a lot of advantages as well for the skin. The best part about mineral make up is that it can also help in dealing with many problems associated with the oily skin. Its non-comedogenic nature is also quite advantageous for oily skin types.

Some special constituents of mineral make up can be used to deal with problems related to the oily skin. For example, to enhance its oil absorption ability, silica powder can be added. This powder can absorb the excess oil and is quite translucent as well. To nullify that shiny look, you can even use Kaolin clay which enhances the oil absorption properties of the make up besides enhancing the adhesion tendencies.

Mineral make up is also called non comedogenic or non occlusive; this means that the skin pores are not blocked with the application of this mineral make up. Hence, since the pores are not blocked, this helps in reducing acne and other problems since the skin breathes naturally. Moreover, this also prevents the untimely aging of the skin.

The best part about mineral make up for oily skin is that you can customize it as per your requirements. You can add or subtract the ingredients as per your skin type if you make your own.
